The first of many

And we would like to note that on Wednesday, October 7 (age 3yrs 5mos), mommy went to pick Rowan up from daycare and his teacher rushed up to her and said that he finally read in class!  They gave him a book, which he read completely, then a second, then a third, and even a fourth that he read to the whole class.  The teachers were blown away!  He was covered in sticker rewards by the time he was finished.  We’ve been telling them for weeks that he can actually read, and they finally believe us.  He reads random street signs, and people look at him in amazement.  Today, for the first time, I saw him going through a book by himself, and he eyes were following the words, not the pictures.  He’s starting to read to himself, too.  Could we be any prouder?
