Congratulations Rowan – you made it through the first year in grand style! And what a final week you had — a fabulous visit by your Aunt Huma (we’re still working on Bailey’s alopecia problem), a birthday party complete with cake and candle, your very own chair, and so much more.

Plus today, while I was sitting next to you on the floor and talking with your Archie, I looked over at you and you had pulled yourself into a standing position with the sofa for the first time ever! You may have stood up once before, but it was while leaning over a box to get something on the other side, so Huma and I, who witnessed the event, weren’t sure it counted.

And you’ve moved to the almost-toddler room in the daycare! Mommy was very happy when she came to pick you up the past few days and found you “free range” wandering among the toys or staring at Dolores as she sang Itsy Bitsy Spider in circle time. They all tell me what a good baby you are, and it’s obvious you’re thriving over there and learning so much. I wish I could be there to see it all.
