Life is full of challenges when you’re a baby.  This morning we put Rowan on the bed on his tummy, a position he absolutely hates, and put a ferris wheel-like toy just within his reach.  He would stretch out to grab it only to just barely touch it, thereby pushing it further away. After a while he’d try to push himself along the bed, which only scooted him in the wrong direction.  We watched this Sisyphean exercise for several minutes until I felt sorry for him and put the toy right in front of him, where he discovered that he can make the ferris wheel go backwards as well as forward.  It was an exciting morning for all of us.
